Our results-driven culture is not built to allow for subtlety or sensitivity. Yet, in my psychotherapy practice, my ongoing Ph.D. research, and my own life experience, I have learned these ingredients are essential to human vitality and wholehearted living. Ongoing meditation practices provide the space and support to explore subtle intuition; in gentle stillness, we listen deeply to our bodies, minds, and hearts.
I have found time and time again that the practice of meditation seems to support this gentle exploration of ourselves, and restores the sense of vitality our culture tends to drain. With practice integrated into daily life, we return with the core of our being awakened, energized, and strengthened through the subtle power of stillness.
FRIDAY MORNING MEDITATION 8:15AM - 8:45AM @ ALIGN PILATES & BARRE ON LAKE AUSTIN BLVD.
Brief reflection about meditation practice is shared at the beginning of class to shape our sitting.
One technique such as breathing or a particular focus in support of deepening a sense of presence through practice is included. This is usually a brief instruction.
There is at least 15-20 minutes of silent sitting.
Closing remarks and time for Q&A take up the last 5-10 minutes of our practice.
Sitting upright is not a strict requirement. Our practice space is abundantly stocked with bolsters, cushions, chairs, and props designed to support you exactly where you are. All levels of experience with practice are welcomed and encouraged to sit. ***This is a donation based offering. While yoga and meditation class series do have class fees associated, this Monday morning practice is open to the community and donations are accepted with gratitude and appreciation.***
