Morgan Osmani One of my favorite life experiences of the summer is running camps and retreats for teenagers. I work in private practice as a psychotherapist, yoga teacher, and self-compassion based meditation instructor in Austin, Texas. I have over fifteen years of leadership experience in the summer camp setting, starting with Camp Weloki in St. Louis, Missouri, and have also functioned in the role of empowerment based mental health professional for Camp Kesem. When I am not working in summer camp settings, I facilitate retreats for adults of all ages in Hawaii, the United States, and Canada, in addition to facilitating counseling and life coaching work for clients one-on-one and in group settings. I am currently completing my Ph.D. in Spiritual Psychology with a specialization in self-compassion based wellness for adolescents and young adults.
I attended Camp Weloki as a teenager in 1996 at the age of 13, and then as part of the counseling and instruction staff ongoing since 2002. Summer is not the same without camp and the long-lasting friendships the retreat experience nurtures. The rich environment of play, discovery, self-reflection, personal growth, fun, joy, connection, friendship, and the loving presence that our wise community of staff and attendees provide create transformative experiences. My summer camp and retreat experiences gave me the tools to embrace all aspects of life and inspired me to help others to do the same. I cannot imagine a better way to spend time over the summer than learning and growing through the adventure and spirit that summer camp and retreats offer. I look forward to forming lasting relationships with each of our campers for many summers to come.
Leilani Long I live in San Antonio, Texas and I love spending summers at guiding camps and retreats. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Education at Missouri State University and taught high school English. After earning my masters degree in Psychology from Sophia University in Palo Alto, California, I now work as a specialist for an urban school district in a dropout prevention program that focuses on high risk teens and preteens. At my job at school, I see first hand the value of the skills and strategies campers learn and can use in every day life t home and at school. I have worked with camp since 2001 and love the learning and playing that can happen only there.
Dan Sivils Once a lawyer who built my purpose within the walls of the courtroom, I could not ignore the innate feeling that I was meant for something else, something more. I shed my skepticism toward self-reflection and was challenged to conform restrictions I imposted on my potential. I decided to embark on an inward journey that revealed my passion for personal growth. I been exploring that passion and found that I come alive when I guide others toward their own calling. I traded my career as an attorney for the role as a certified instructor and life coach. My gift is guiding others toward their true purpose.
